BIS Shrapnel Pty Ltd has provided business research and forecasting services to clients since the mid 1960s.

Philip Shrapnel & Co. was founded in Australia in 1964, by leading economic forecaster Philip Shrapnel. The company expanded rapidly during the 1970s and in 1980 formed a worldwide network with the UK-based BIS group and the name BIS Shrapnel was born.

In 1996 the company was acquired by the local management and BIS Shrapnel is now 100% Australian owned. We have offices in Sydney and Melbourne and maintain a network of alliances in overseas countries. We maintain our independence and have no financial or other interests in any of the sectors we research and forecast.

The scope and coverage of our research has steadily expanded over time, encompassing a widening range of industry sector expertise as well as an expanding geographic coverage, throughout the Asia Pacific region, and into Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Around 20 per cent of BIS Shrapnel's revenue now derives from exports.
