Angus Dawson

Angus Dawson was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Growth Centres Commission in September 2005.  As CEO, Angus is charged with overseeing the development of new communities in North West and South West Sydney which will accommodate 30 to 40 per cent of Sydney’s long term housing growth.  This translates to managing the delivery of 181,000 homes and $7.5 billion in infrastructure for future communities of nearly 500,000 residents.

With 25 years in the property development and commercial construction industries, including 16 years  in senior posts with both public and private organisations, Angus has established strong networks across the urban development industry and at all tiers of Government.

A graduate of the University of Technology Sydney (Bachelor of Applied Science (Building)), and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Angus was General Manager of the Honeysuckle Development Corporation from 1998 to 2005.  Prior to joining Honeysuckle, Angus held a senior position with Urban Pacific Limited, and in 1988 founded Lansdown Homes, an integrated residential development company based in Sydney and Brisbane, working initially as General Manager and later as Director.
