Bernie Neufeld developed and manages BIS Shrapnel's global forest products program. He is an economist with a wide range of experiences in the consulting industry, the forest products industry, economic forecasting, building industry forecasting, telecommunications policy, government policy, higher education, international trade policy, economic development policy, and labor market policy.

He has worked and lived in many of the most dynamic regions in the world, and has travelled across the globe over the past twenty years for intensive discussions with key players in the forest products industry as a critical aspect of the forestry program.

Sawn Timber (lumber)

The Sawn Timber in Australia report has been produced on a regular basis since 1985. The next edition of the report will assess both cyclical and long term prospects for sawn timber demand, supply and prices. The report will analyse the Australian demand for sawn timber in detail, building on the economic and building industry forecasts produced by BIS Shrapnel. The report will make use of surveys of end users of timber, including builders, timber merchants and furniture manufacturers.
