Private non-mining investment to replace government investment as driver of growth
A switching between different types of investment will drive the next stage of the business cycle, according to BIS Shrapnel’s recently released Long Term Forecasts 2012 – 2027 report.
However, the outlook is not all rosy and BIS Shrapnel warns that there remain significant risks to the economy – the European economic crisis, significant under-investment in the non-mining industries and infrastructure and a fall in commodity prices – and Australia should remain cautious.
