Benchmarking of Sawmill Industries in North America, Europe, Chile, Australia and New Zealand

Two editions of this study have been produced since 1998. The second edition was published in March 2003. It provides key benchmarks of the sawmilling industries in the Canadian coast, BC interior, the United States Pacific Northwest, and South, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, and Western Europe. It measures the competitiveness of producers in these regions in supplying key export markets.

Benchmarks include the cost of capital, plant, building and site works, stumpage, harvesting and transport, residues, labour, energy, maintenance and shipping to key markets, for each country.

Future editions will be published on the basis of demand.
