This is the inaugural edition of The Domestic Water Filter Market in Australia. It is envisaged that the study will be produced biennially.

The catalyst for this report was a series of requests for detailed market information regarding water filters. When coupled with the current national focus on water issues, it was timely for a comprehensive analysis of the water filter market in Australia.

In 2003, we did collect some basic data on fixed domestic water filter systems; where appropriate, we have provided data comparisons in our new study.

The study is presented in one volume, which includes the following water filter products:
  • Fixed/Connected filters (under sink, sink top, attached to tap, whole house)
  • Portable filters (filter jugs, ceramic filters)
Respondents who do not have any water filter products, were asked whether they intend to purchase any over the next 6 months.
