Methodology
In November and December 2007, we surveyed 347 non-residential builders about their projects in the last financial year.  We covered all states, apart from the NT and Tasmania, and non-residential building categories as follows: offices, shops/retail centres, hotels/motels, other business premises, factories, educational, health, religious, entertainment and recreation, and miscellaneous.  We covered four project value ranges to obtain a representative sample of different project types and values.  This sample was weighted to the total value of commencements and represented 20-25% of the value of non-residential projects undertaken in Australia during the relevant time period.
