Earlier editions of this study were published in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

The consumer research will be the result of an internet survey of 4,000 households in Australia (metropolitan Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth and regional area of New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland).

In addition, we will conduct 200 trade interviews via the internet to obtain trade feedback on power tools; we will focus on tradesmen across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
