REPORT NOW AVAILABLE!

This is the eighteenth study of the non-CBD office market undertaken by BIS Oxford Economics. Developed as a supplement to the Sydney Commercial Property study on the metropolitan market and the CBD, this report contains not only detailed forecasts for the major suburban sub-markets but also discusses the smaller and emerging office centres.

The report assesses the market and prospects for commercial property in major suburban office markets of North Sydney, Crows Nest and St Leonards, Chatswood, Parramatta and Macquarie Park over the next 10 years. Also provided is discussion on how the minor suburban office markets of South Sydney/Mascot, City Fringe, Norwest, Rhodes and Olympic Park – amongst others – fit within the residual metropolitan office market. The report looks in detail at:

  • What are the prospects for the New South Wales economy and demand for suburban office space?
  • What is the outlook for new supply and vacancy rates? Office commencements across the suburban markets have been low but are set to rise. Meanwhile, how much further does the phase of residential conversions have to run, and hence its impact on withdrawals?
  • What are the prospects for A grade rents, yields and values for the major suburban office markets?
  • Which is the better investment: a suburban centre or the CBD?

A six-monthly update forms part of the subscription.
