| The Wooden Furniture Industry in Australia: 2004-2008 The second edition of this study was published in 2004. The main objective is to provide a basis for wooden furniture manufacturers, suppliers to the industry, distributors and retailers, to make correct strategic decisions on investment and production. The study is based in part on a structured survey of over 100 furniture manufacturers and distributors, covering the five mainland Australian states. The final report includes an executive summary and a discussion of the drivers influencing consumption, the industry structure, and distribution mechanisms. Separate chapters include a global overview of wooden furniture production and trade, and overview of the industry structure in Australia, material usage, including solid timber, MDF, particleboard, veneer, plywood and hardwood, demand drivers, demand forecasts, supply forecasts, trade and distribution.
